Asian Beef Kebabs
Ingredients and Preparation
|Top sirloin steak, cut into 1- to 2-inch cubes||½ pound|
|Hoisin sauce||¼ cup|
|Asian chili sauce||1 teaspoon|
|Freshly ground black pepper||½ teaspoon|
|Metal skewers, or wooden ones, soaked in water for at least 20 minutes||4|
|Red bell pepper, cut into 1- to 2-inch squares||1|
|Scallions, cut into 2-inch long strips||4|
2. Combine beef, hoisin sauce, chili sauce, and black pepper in a large resealable plastic bag. Marinate 30 minutes to overnight.
3. Preheat broiler to high heat. (Alternatively, a grill may be used.) Thread skewers, alternating beef, bell pepper, and scallions.
4. Broil skewers 5-7 minutes, or until desired degree of doneness is achieved.
